Food Security and Livelihoods

Agriculture is the backbone of rural livelihoods in Afghanistan, providing income and food security for millions of families. However, years of conflict, climate change, drought, natural disasters, and limited access to agricultural services have left many farming households vulnerable to food insecurity and economic hardship. At Afghan Alfouz Innovational Welfare Organization (AAIWO), we work alongside communities to strengthen agricultural productivity, improve household resilience, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. Our integrated approach combines climate-smart agriculture, livestock development, nutrition-sensitive farming, and market-based solutions to help vulnerable families achieve long-term food security.

AAIWO promotes sustainable agricultural development through community-centered interventions that increase productivity while protecting natural resources. We collaborate closely with farmers, local authorities, community organizations, and development partners to deliver practical, locally appropriate solutions that improve livelihoods and strengthen resilience. Our interventions focus on empowering smallholder farmers, women, youth, returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and livestock-dependent households with the knowledge, resources, and skills they need to build secure and sustainable futures.
